Who other than a connoisseur of fine whiskeys would know this better that a whiskey gets better with age. One such very old single malt has been released by the Speyside’s BenRiach Distillery, BenRiach 1978 Firkin Cask, which is said to be the company’s rarest bottle.
This BenRiach 1978 Firkin Cask is distilled and filled back in June 1978 which makes it extremely rare and only 40 bottles have been made that contain the old malt. The term ‘Firkin’ was used in old times to refer to a cask that was used for aging whiskeys. Thus, the traditional method has been used in the making of the rare malt.
It’s always exciting to discover exceptionally rare and unique casks in our warehouses, and BenRiach has more than its fair share! Upon unearthing this Firkin, we knew we had found something truly extraordinary and sublime which will delight even the most demanding of BenRiach whisky aficionados.”
Although, the forty bottles will be released in September, there has been no word on pricing as yet. The bottles will be packed in clear and bright unique wooden gift box. The whiskey lovers may also go through our list of Limited edition Johnnie Walker bottles.
