Lotus Evora S ‘Freddie Mercury’ Edition to go under the hammer

A lot of us ’80s rock ‘n’ roll fans still hum the famous number ‘I want to break free’ by the British band, Queen. The man created that hit number was Freddie Mercury, who tragically passed away a few years later after succumbing to AIDS. As a tribute to the star, Lotus has created a one-off Freddie Mercury version of the Evora S car, which has been done up in colors similar to that of Freddie Mercury’s costume in 1986 stage appearance in order to raise fund for his charitable organization Mercury Phoenix Foundation.

This one-off version of the Lotus has seen changes on the body and the interior décor. On the exterior, the body is white and had a single stripe of red and yellow running from the front end to the back end of the vehicle. Also, the rear view mirrors are black, with yellow indicator lights. On the interiors, there is dual tone hand stitched leather work done. The upper end of the dashboard, central console and side of the passenger seats have the black color, whereas the lower half of the door panels, central console and the center of passenger seats along with parts of the flooring have the contrast yellow color. To remind passengers of the uniqueness of the vehicle, there is a signature of Freddie Mercury in yellow on the right hand side of the dashboard.

This version of the Lotus Evora has been created for the charity auction as we mentioned earlier. The proceeds of the event will go to the organization that has been actively involved with AIDS research, treatment and awareness. The only parallel to this exclusive version of the car is James Bond edition, which also went under the hammer in the UK a while back. But for sure, those who have the cash and remember the iconic star will direct all efforts towards grabbing this exclusive automotive masterpiece.
