The fine car collectors now have a fine chance to grab a 1955 Cadillac Series 75 Presidential limousine as it is being auctioned in Indiana at Auctions America by RM’s Auburn Fall sale.
The car was custom made for the first lady Mrs. Eisenhower in 1955, and was used for her personal trips and for formal rallies too. The car was tailored for Eisenhower White House by the Hess & Eisenhardt, and went under several alterations such as replacement of the roof part that was switched with Series 62 Coupe de Ville car. This modification was done for the convenient view while standing in the moving car. The car is amongst 1200 other cars that are being auctioned at the RM’s Auburn Fall sale.
Before being sold to an American General, the car remained in the garage of White House as a memorabilia for the term of Eisenhower’s. The car was then purchased by a French collector of presidential vehicles Olivier Delafon who is the current owner of the car. 1955 Cadillac Series 75 Presidential Limousine is expected to fetch $175,000 - $225,000 at the auction. Other cars to join the grand auction would be a deluxe 1938 Packard V-12 Landaulet, 1970 Cadillac Limousine, 1933 Cadillac V-12 Convertible Coupe and many more. Not only cars, but a few rare motorbikes would also be the part of this auction.
