Looking at the trend in recent times, we were inclined to believe that the luxury brands are at war of sorts, to provide the best specimens of craftsmanship from their brands. They have not only done it with their core products like watches, or in this case cars, but they have also ventured out to create memorabilia which equals in finesse, and hopefully gives a larger section of the brands’ fans to buy. Bentley has now decided to showcase these fineries by putting on auction, some limited edition memorabilia to raise funds for the upcoming Prince Charity Auction.
The charity auction in concern, has been taking place since 1976, from which a large group people in the age group of 14-35 years old, are given education funding and job training skills, so that they may turn out to be as productive members of society. The event shall have these memorabilia, which have been shelled out of the styling division of the car maker, by selected craftsmen and women who have individually created these pieces of craftsmanship, often with their hands. With creativity that flows within the company, they have managed to create certain items which go beyond the obvious set available commonly, and create the elite image of brilliance which have been done over the years with the cars. One can testify to this; imagine having a paperweight which was the brake pedal cover of one its models. Or a center table with a glass top, which was once an engine in one of the racing models. Or more simply, think of having dinner which has been created by the same people who may have sweated it out to create the Continental GT or the Mulsane! For every auto-lover, this event shall be of prime importance as many fans look to remain as close to the brand as possible, which isn’t otherwise the case looking at the price tag of the vehicles. Also, to gain that trust and image, Bentley has ensured that the brand’s iconic ‘B’ logo is engraved on all the products including the glass top table, brake pedal cover, dinner set, water-color, and even the timepiece.
For other examples of Bentley memorabilia, you could take a look at the Estede Bentley sunglasses and the luxury car dog mat. These may not be a part of the current auction but will certainly be on the wish list of many auto-lovers.
