Since a lot of us haven’t got the cash to buy a real version of the supercars, we resort to scale model versions to fulfill our wish of having our dream vehicles close to us. Hence, there has been a surge in demand especially amongst kids, for these scale models that are ultra-realistic and bear similar quality standards as the real vehicle. We showed similar such examples in our coverage of Toy cars for rich kids, and now as a bonanza for them, there is the Ferrari 502 1:1.8 scale model which makes the little ones experience the award winning car as closely as possible.
The Ferrari 500F2 had risen to fame in 1953 when it won on the Bremgarten racetrack in Switzerland. The driver on the vehicle was Alberto Ascari, who had a winning record of 2 consecutive F1 World Championships in 1952 & 1953 with the same car. Amongst other features, this car boasted of a 4-cylinder motor engine which was a landmark feature, considering that age of racing cars. The scale model might not be as big or equipped with the same engine, but certainly can give you an up close and personal view of how it felt to own one. The multiple meter gauges on the dashboard and the signature wooden finished steering wheel, certainly makes you wonder if this is indeed a scaled down version of the car! However to bring in one of these into your home, be prepared to shell out $9,085 + tax needed to buy it.
If you are looking at even higher quality of scale models, you could go over our piece on the Ferrari Testarossa Go-kart model, which had a 5HP engine, 2-speed automatic transmission and a top speed of 30 m/ph. This model may not have lived up to this standard, but certainly good for getting addicted to cars at an early age.
