Foodies always lust for delectable dishes, wherever they are available, to tickle their taste buds. For all those gourmet lovers, restaurateur and chef Jasper Mirabile Jr has put on display an exclusive and elegant cannoli at Jasper’s Restaurant that is open till September. Elegant, because the dessert is being complemented with an Italian diamond necklace, which explains the whopping $26,000 price tag! The cannoli has been prepared by baker Carey Iennaccaro of Overland Park-based Sprinkled With Sugar.
This cannoli, which is a Sicilian dessert, has a base of rich dark chocolate. It has been filled with whipped ricotta cheese that has been mixed with candied lemon, chocolate and lemon peel. This world’s most expensive cannoli has been wrapped with edible gold leaf. The cannoli is being displayed at the restaurant but the diamond necklace has been kept in the safe for the security purpose. As per the Jasper Mirabile Jr:
Our insurance company said we can either build a secure glass case for the cannoli.

The recipe of this amazing dessert dates back to the Arab occupation of Sicily in 9th century. The restaurateur usually uses his great-grandmother’s recipe to bake tempting pastries for his restaurant in Italy. Jasper Mirabile Jr. who is in process of writing a book, especially on exclusive cannoli for which he has traveled 15 cities in Sicily last year, is doing research for his upcoming book.
The dessert has already gained popularity as according to the Chef they have got many enquiry about the cannoli being displayed in the restaurant. Although, this exhibited item is just good to see, yet Mirabile’s restaurant can prepare a fresh cannoli for the buyer in 24 hour prior notice that will be handled along with the diamond necklace owned by jeweler Tom Tivol at cost of $26,010.
