Chess is a game often liked by the uber rich class, and for people who can spend a fortune a run-of-the mill chess set won’t do. Therefore, companies are offering exclusive chess sets such as Rare scented chess set, Gold & Diamond Chess Set or Mammoth Ivory set, all made for rich collectors. Yet again, for the royal chess collectors Studio Anne Carlton has designed Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee chess set.
This chess set has been specially designed to celebrate the diamond jubilee (in 2012) of HM the Queen Elizabeth’s attainment to the throne in 1952 to mark the most significant modern occurrence of the British monarchy. This royal chess set will be launched on 1st October and is designed in collaboration with St Georges Chapel in Windsor, the official residence of The Queen. The set features intricately designed hand-painted figures of the royals which also include The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. The rook is designed with the inspiration from 12th century Windsor Castle and the pawns symbolize choristers of St George’s Chapel, Windsor.
Michael Lee, the Studio Anne Carlton’s managing director commented :
Studio Anne Carlton was delighted to have the opportunity to produce this luxurious Diamond Jubilee chess set as it represents a remarkable achievement by HM The Queen and a truly significant event in the history of the United Kingdom. It appeals not just to chess players but to all those people around the world who acknowledge the British Royal Family and wish to own and enjoy a delightful and usable piece of collectable memorabilia.
This collectible piece is a perfect gift for Christmas as it is scheduled to be launched on October 1st, 2011. The chess set will be presented in commemorative gift box and the set also includes Parchment Certificate.
