Volvo to unveil its most luxurious "Concept You" sedan at Frankfurt Motor Show: Exclusive

Volvo’s name is now a common knowledge in the automotive segment mainly because of its cars and buses. Referring to cars, it has bought many an innovation and luxury offerings such as the Concept Universe, and now it’s the turn of Concept You, which will vow car lovers with its patent smart pad technology. To be unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show, this vehicle will offer luxury, craftsmanship and innovative technology on a common platform to drive around.

The major innovation which defines this particular sedan, is the clutter-free and highly advanced Smartpad technology which ensures that the controlling in free from the traditionally common buttons. These buttons have now been replaced by sensitive touch-screens, which literally keep a close watch on the driver’s movements in order to aid him/her to drive the car. The Control centre comprises of 4 major parts including the Driver Information Monitor, a head-up display on the windscreen, a screen on the upper end of the control console, and one in the rear seats of the car. The screen on the central is generally on a ‘sleep-mode’ and becomes active only when the driver or passenger approaches it to perform a function. The hidden infra-red cameras on the side register the hand and eye movements and respond to that specifically. Also, while the car is on the move, the driver has no control of the infotainment system, and only a passenger can control it. Even the leather and wood steering wheel has integrated touch screens which are sensitive to driver’s movements.

The next notable portion is the interior decoration of the car. The flooring primarily is wooden which is what the Scandinavians are known for. The carpeting of the surroundings are dual tone and dual textured, the credit for which goes to famous Swedish brand Kashhall. The seats are done up in leather, which is tailored specifically for the vehicle alone, and are also chrome free. Like the rest of the interiors, the shades vary from dark to light from front to the back. The credit of the luxurious and rather aesthetic appeal goes to Danish design house Georg Jensen, who have experimented to come with the best possible combination.
