Lamborghini seems to be grabbing eye balls by the seconds, as after the recent production of the World’s most expensive model car; they decided to launch the Sesto Elemento model, in a limited edition of 20 cars. The car was initially shown at the 2010 Paris Auto Show, but there were significant speculations regarding the production. Now at last, the company decides to lift the veil and send the car into production.
It’s been a while since Lamborghini became a 100% subsidiary of Audi AG, thus has the advantage of getting the designing expertise in areas such as light weight of the chassis. Despite the obvious size, the car is just less than 1 tonne in weight, which is indeed a notable feat. The carbon fiber used for the body ensures lower overall weight, high pick up and mileage, and of course, a lower carbon emission. Expertise had been developed over time within the company, on the use CFRP (Carbon Fiber Re-enforced Plastics) before finally being used on this car body. With this, Lamborghini became the first vehicle manufacturer to master the use of the fabric in various stages such as validation, production and testing. On the engine front, there is a power packed V10 engine, which has an output of 570 HP, and takes the car from 0-100 km/ph in just 2.5 seconds. Since this engine has an all-wheel format, the car is more stable and provides decent amount of maneuverability at the same time.
