Nike’s Mag shoes soldNike’s Mag shoes sold to a british rapper
On September 8, Nike launched Nike MAG shoes that were worn by actor Michael J. Fox aka Marty McFly in the film “Back to the Future Part II”. The shoes were auctioned in LA at the Montalban Theatre and the buyer was a 22-year-old British rapper, Tinie Tempah, who bought these cool futuristic shoes for cool $37,500.
The rapper loves to collect shoes and said to fell in love with the sneaker the moment he looked at it. Further Tempah said:
It was a total spur of the moment decision,” I was really touched in the moment by the presentation and next thing I knew I owned these iconic sneakers. I feel fortunate to be able to help.
The proceeds will go to Michael J. Fox Foundation to help victims of Parkinson’s disease. Actor Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1991.
The shoes have glowing LEDs and an electroluminescent “Nike” in the strap. These LED and electroluminescent logo will glow for five hours in one charge. The lights can be turned on with a pinch of the high-top’s “ear”. Shoe lovers may also check out the list of most expensive shoes for men.
