Nike MAG shoes are no more a future concept. Shoes that were worn by the actor Michael J. Fox aka Marty McFly in the film “Back to the Future Part II” have now officially been launched by Nike. It’s a noble initiative to auction these uniquely designed shoes, proceeds of which will go to Michael J. Fox Foundation to help victims of Parkinson’s disease. Actor Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1991. The shoes are on sale at eBay.com and the auction will last till 18th September, 2011.

With only 1500 pairs, the shoes are exact replica of the sneakers worn by the actor in the movie, except the power lacing. The shoes will have glowing LEDs and an electroluminescent “Nike” in the strap. These LED and electroluminescent logo will glow for five hours in one charge. The lights can be turned on with a pinch of the high-top’s “ear”.
Earlier, these futuristic shoes were only available on special order. One of the fans of J. Fox, Mark Kurat, had customized these futuristic shoes at the cost of $4000. Kurat has more than 500 pairs of sneakers in a dedicated showroom in his house. The shoemaker took six months to get the pair ready for him.
Nike shoe lovers may also check out Golden boots by Nike that cost $5,405.
