If you are a successful businessman (someone even the environmentalists adore) and have an engineer as your best pal, the perfect way to exploit your riches is to make use of that bond. Rich for sure, businessman Dale Vince OBE plans to do exactly the same by toppling the land speed record for a wind powered vehicle with his friend Richard Jenkins. Hailing from Britain, these two friends plan to set a new record in their wind powered vehicle dubbed the “Greenbird.” The duo plans to take on the challenge of rocking past 116.7 mph across Lake Lefroy in Australia. They believe that the Salt Flats across the lake are an ideal place to set the record and they just hope that the weather supports their cause. The two are confident about achieving the feat as the Greenbird is a vehicle that uses the combination of technology found in aircrafts and F1 cars to achieve superficial speeds. It has taken 10 years of evolvement and Dale’s immense wealth to make the vehicle tread at such speeds, and now it is for all of us to see whether the good work enables them to topple the record or not.
