Wine and beauty, both look perfect when seasoned. One such seasoned and ageless beauty was Marilyn Monroe, who did live a short life but left a mark on everything with her eternal beauty and that included wine as well. Marilyn Merlot, a famous wine brand which is a tribute to the blonde bombshell, is launching a special edition wine in September that was aged in 2009 at Napa Valley winery.
Although, the wine is usually released in the month of June that happens to be the birth month of late Monroe, but because of the festive season the company has decided to release it in September this year. The bottle features a sexy photograph of the actress and is presented in a silk-screen print. About the release, the founders of Marilyn Merlot says:
We are delighted to commemorate 25 years of success in the wine business. Although, Marilyn’s career was short lived, her legacy is eternal. This vintage is a celebration of the similar timeless appeal of our wines, the lasting vitality of our business, and the perpetual quality of Napa Valley’s outstanding fruit.
The 25th anniversary is being celebrated with the 2009 vintage wine since Napa Valley winery had very good rains during that year and cultivated amazing grape fruit for the wine; hence, this special wine is just perfect for this special occasion. Apart from the anniversary special edition, the company will also launch 2010 Sauvignon Blonde bottle that will feature Marilyn in the patent white backless dress worn by her in the movie ‘Seven Year Itch’. Marilyn Merlot are making wines since 25 years only in the name of Marilyn Monroe, although they have been asked to create wines for other celebs as well but they prefer to remain with the blonde bombshell.
