Martin Logan has shown plenty of examples of creating speakers with electrostatic functionality, amongst which the highlights include the 25th Anniversary CLX speakers and Summit X Hybrid speakers, both of which are known for their unique slim fits and engineering. Building on those qualities and making them even finer is the EFX slim figure speakers, which are not just meant for heightening audio experiences, but also slimming down on cabinet space unlike any other competitor.
The differentiating factors, when compared to its earlier models are the CLX X-stat Transducer, slim-on-wall profile, Vojtko Filtering and the 5-way binding post with low voltage power supplier. The X-stat transducer brings in advanced vacuum bonding and MicroPerf panels which bring in precision in sound quality by highlighting even the lower frequency of sounds and bringing the sound emission as close to reality as possible. The slim on wall profile makes it perfect to be hung in wall brackets without occupying too much space. The thickness from the speaker is just 6.5 inches and the weight of a little above 11 kg stands as a sharp contrast when one looks at the vertical base of the speaker, which means it isn’t the heaviest to move around either. Also, the rotating feature helps in completing the surround sound experience.
The Vojtko filtering helps in clearing sound distortions as well, along with the transducer. To ensure optimum performance, hand crafted point-to-point wiring, polypropylene capacitors, massive air-core coils and the custom E-1 core transformer play a vital role, especially with lower frequencies, while managing higher frequencies with equal ease. Last significant part is the 5-way binding post and the low-voltage power supply system. Cable management and demand for heavy IEC power chords eventually become history as a result. The target price for the set is $3,095 a piece.
