Bovet to showcase the 7-day horological masterpiece at the Only Watch auction

Timepiece from Bovet for Only Watch 2011
Bovet’s display of exquisite timepieces can be seen in all their previous models including our coverage of the Mille Fleurs collection, which had feminine designing cues. This time, it’s a one-off timepiece from them, known as the 7-day watch meant for the upcoming Only Watch auction 2011. A horological masterpiece in every sense possible, this watch has the option of being turned into a pocket watch or even a table watch without extra tools!
Only Watch auction, which is a one of a kind event for raising funds for the cause of treatment of muscular dystrophy, will showcase this timepiece amongst other high-end watches. The 7-day timepiece has been created on a rose gold chassis, with detailed engravings symbolizing the Chinese mythological animals; the phoenix and the dragon.
These animals signify the many gifts of a person’s life such as prosperity, luck, wisdom, and immortality, thus, were used frequently. Due to the detailed handcrafted artwork on the watch, it took 100 hours of diligent and precise craftsmanship to create the engravements so perfect in finish.
Armed with 2 dials at the front and back, the front dial is based on the dragon, where it displays the animal on a majority of the front part, as well as on the sides and conveys the time through the blue enameled hour and minute hands. Seconds are conveyed by the flaming pearl placed on the tourbillon cage of the watch, on the right hand side of the dial.
Similarly, the 2nd dial at the back is based on the phoenix, and comes with a slightly lesser detailed engraving and size as compared to the front facing 44mm dial. Also it is slightly lesser in size, occupying ¾th of the area of the surface. The look on this dial, however, majorly remains matched with the front facing one. To check the power reserve of the timepiece, one has to look at the small window on the front dial, at the slot for 9’o’clock.
The strap of the watch comes with dual options: 18k rose gold or alligator leather, as per the customer’s preference. But, since this is a one-off timepiece, interested bidders will have to be on their toes to get hold of this horological beauty.
