During the 100 plus years long journey of the luxury writing instrument maker Mont Blanc, we have witnessed some real gemstones such as the Tribute limited edition pen, the Boheme Papillon limited edition and the Boheme Royal Diamond Pen which became collector’s item for the sheer brilliance of craftsmanship. Another such writing instrument to join this elite league is the limited edition 10th Anniversary Max Reinhardt pen, which is more of a tribute to the brand’s association with a theater project set up by the artist, Max Reinhardt.
The luxury brand which has long associated itself with the elite culture, had been sponsoring the Young Directors project, which looks to showcase talent from the very best in theater, especially from Europe. Mark Reinhardt, an artist who is one of the most famous from the region, and also whose castle Leopoldskron plays host to the Salzburg festival has been a prime area of focus for the brand, which has been associated with the Project for long, especially with theater.
The winners of the festival each year receive €10,000 ($14,270) prize money and also an especially created writing instrument such as the one for this year. The inspiration for it is generally drawn from a facet of theater like curtains or ambience, and this year it’s the place halls.
The Gold mural works on the pens body represent the décor of the halls of the castle, where a larger version is present. The nib of the fountain pen itself is a work of hand craftsmanship, with special carvings giving it the exquisite shape and style. The capping of the writing instrument include special lacquered paint work, along with placing of a series of diamonds in a unique pattern giving the pen a true elitist cultural flavor. Like most things of its class, it will be available to the winners only and shall be produced in limited numbers.
