Up for grabs at Christie’s Important Jewels auction on June 14 is a magnificent 46.51-carat E color oval diamond set in a platinum ring. While the total sale is expected to bring in $8 million, this impressive diamond ring alone is estimated at between $2.5 million and $3.5 million.
The ring is flanked on either side by a pear-shaped diamond, weighing approximately 1.00 and 1.01 carats (VS1 and VS2 clarity respectively), mounted in platinum.
Another highlight from the sale is a diamond ring set with a D-color pear-shaped diamond of 10.01 carats. It’s expected to sell for as much as $1.5 million. Last month, a 10.09-carat cushion cut, fancy vivid purplish pink diamond, which we listed in our list of most important upcoming auctions for 2011, failed to sell at Christie’s Magnificent Jewels Auction.
